Michelle Beaudette-Grates is the owner and creator of Girlie Girl Salon and Tenue lifestyle boutique. A graduate of Wayne State University, she was inspired by the Fred Segal L.A. shopping and salon concept. While working there in the mid-90s she also attended the Joe Blasco Makeup School and was lucky to assist Sharon Gault, Klexius Colby and Victor Josef. She freelanced hair and makeup for ten years in L.A., Miami and Detroit before opening Girlie Girl in 2005. She apprenticed to earn her cosmetology license and has since been certified in Lavish Lashes, Minx Brow Lamination and the Beverly Hills Lash Lift.

Suzanne knew from age five that she would be a stylist one day! After attending Wayne State University, she started her hair journey at David Pressley School of Cosmetology. She first worked at Edwin Paul Salon for 11 years before Michelle opened Girlie Girl in 2005 – she was thrilled to work for her sister! Suzanne has attended classes all over the world – Toni & Guy, Dessange, Vidal Sassoon in Miami, Toronto, Los Angeles, London and many more. She is a huge animal lover and enjoys time with her family and friends. Suzanne specializes in precision cutting & blending, and loves to make her clients feel beautiful!

Whether embracing a fresh new look or maintaining a classic style, Ginnie is the stylist for you. She has trained with top-level stylists in cities such as Chicago and Toronto. Ginnie's passion for hair and cosmetology was evident from an early age. She graduated from Sybil's School of Cosmetology and has continued her education while serving the Grosse Pointe community for over 20 years. Her training includes Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Kerastase and more, and she is balayage certified. No matter your skill level, Ginnie takes personal interest and time to ensure you can maintain the salon look long after you leave the chair.

Jennie is known for her detailed blowouts as well as all things blonde, including balayage, highlights and babylights. With her genuine personality, she loves creating classic looks while providing an “on-trend” twist for her clients. Education is an aspect of the hair industry that Jennie takes pride in – she continually participates in color and design classes and has learned from platform artists in Las Vegas and Chicago.

She graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute in 2012, then was coached by a master stylist and completed an extensive assistant program of hands-on haircutting and coloring. Tracey has been a licensed manicurist for over 27 years, with extensive training in CND Shellac and acrylic. Starting out working mostly with acrylic nail enhancements, she has seen the industry evolve and now specializes in Shellac and pedicures. Tracey has worked in top salons in Grosse Pointe and Birmingham, MI, with a short stint in New Orleans and L.A. She has worked on photo shoots for Vogue and Hour Detroit, and done the nails of Sir Paul McCartney and Adele.

Vicki has been a manicurist at Girlie Girl since 2012. She is a graduate of Barons School of Cosmetology and a licensed manicurist since 1989. Vicki specializes in manicures, shellac manicures and a variety of pedicures to fit your needs.

Danielle graduated from Michigan College of Beauty in 2004 and has been a nail tech ever since. She left Girlie Girl in 2017 to explore other endeavors – working in Atlanta at Woodhouse Day Spa, specializing in higher-end spa services including reflexology. Danielle has landed back in Detroit and is excited to be at Girlie Girl once again. She enjoys creating polish colors and helping her clients feel their best!
